Reliance Jio offers 70 percent buyback guarantee on Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus after one year

Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will go on sale in India starting from today evening and right before the official launch, Reliance Jio has announced that it will provide 70 percent buyback guarantee to customers who will pre-order the latest iPhones. The company is also offering a new plan and some interesting cashback as well.

To start with the buyback guarantee, Jio has announced that Reliance Digital will offer a special 70 percent buyback on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. This means customers would be eligible for 70 percent of the original purchase price as buyback amount on the return of the device after a year.

Customers can avail this offer at Reliance Digital or Amazon India as well as MyJio app, Jio.com and Jio Store. However, there is a catch! Users need to opt for Reliance Jio network and has to choose a plan of Rs 799 or higher to become eligible for the buyback guarantee. The latest iPhones will be available across 900 cities in India from more than 2000 Reliance Digital outlets. Lastly, users need to pay Rs 1,999 as a pre-booking amount, which is non-refundable. This means if you choose to cancel the pre-order, you might lose the pre-booking amount

Further, Jio has introduced a new Rs 799 plan for its postpaid and prepaid users who are planning to buy iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Under this offer, Jio will offer 90GB of data per month along with free voice calls, SMS and complimentary subscription of Jio apps with the purchase of the device. For prepaid users, the Rs 799 packs come with 28 days validity. Apart from this, the company is also offering a cashback of Rs 10,000 for customers who will these devices on September 29 using Citibank Credit Card.

Airtel 4G smartphone to be launched next week for Rs 2,000 : Report

Meanwhile, Vodafone has partnered with Lava and Intex and is offering a cashback worth Rs 900 on the purchase of a new Lava feature phone, whereas for Intex customers it is offering 50 percent cash back on recharge up to Rs 100 on Intex 2G feature phones.

Intex Aqua A4+ with 4G VoLTE support, Android Nougat launched for Rs 3,999
Intex Technologies has launched its latest budget-oriented smartphone, the Aqua A4+, in India. Priced at Rs 3,999, it is the upgraded version of Aqua A4, launched earlier this year. The phone comes in Champagne and Black colour options and it is available from select retail stores in the country.

The smartphone features a 4.5-inch display with a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9822 processor. The phone is backed by a 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

On the camera front, the device support 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel lens at the front. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is juiced up by a 2000mAh Li-ion battery which claims to offer 8 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time. On the connectivity front, the device support 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/AGPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB port.

Last week Intex launched it is another budget-oriented smartphone, the Aqua Lions 2, in India. Priced at Rs 4,599. The Aqua Lion 2 is almost similar to A4+, expect it features a 5-inch display with same screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 32-bit quad-core processor, though the company has not specified the model. On the storage front, Aqua Lion 2 is also by an 8GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

On the camera front, the device support 5-megapixel rear and front cameras, however, Aqua 4A+ has a 2-megapixel sensor at the front. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is juiced up by a 2400mAh Li-ion battery. On the connectivity front, the device support 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/AGPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB port.

Nokia 3310 3G variant announced
HMD Global, the brand behind the revival of Nokia smartphones, has announced a new variant of its famous 3310 feature. The variant comes with 3G support and has been launched for the Australian market with other markets coming soon. 

The new feature phone will be available for a price tag of AUD 89.95 (approx. Rs 4,500) through Vodafone, Optus, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi from October 16. Further, the feature phone will be available in the global markets at an average price tag of EUR 69 Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global, announced this news through his official Twitter account. The 3G variant of the Nokia 3310 will be available in Yellow, Warm Red, Azure and Charcoal hues, all with a matte finish and silver keypads.

The company says that the Nokia 3310 3G has up to 6.5 hours of talk time and up to 27 days of standby time. However, there is no information available about Indian pricing and availability, so stay tuned with us for further details.

Coming to the specifications, the 3G variant supports a similar specification of the original 3310 launched at the Mobile World Congress 2017. The Nokia 3310 comes with a 2.4-inch curved window colour QVGA screen with the resolution of 240x320 pixels along with a decent 16GB internal storage for a feature phone with the option to expand further up to 32GB via micro SD card.

Further, we get a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with Nokia Series 30+ operating system. For the fuel, the 3310 packs a 1200 mAh battery which Nokia claims can last you 22.1 hours of talk time, 31 days of standby, 51 hours of MP3 playback and 39 hours FM radio playback. In terms of connectivity, we get Dual SIM, Micro USB (2.0), Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM and 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Reliance JioPhone: 9 terms and conditions you must know


1. Reliance Jio has finally revealed the terms and conditions for its low-cost 4G handset Jio Phone. Ever since the 'effectively zero-priced' phone was unveiled in late July by the company's chairman Mukesh Ambani, there has been speculation about the fine print of clauses that the customers will have to adhere to. For the first time, the company has detailed the same on its website. Here are the most relevant 8 things from the terms and conditions that you must know about it.


2. SHAREJioPhone users need to make recharges worth Rs 1,500 every year
As per the terms and conditions given on Reliance Jio's website JioPhone users need to go for a minimum recharge of Rs 1,500 annually. "The JioPhone is available for continued use on the Recipient purchasing telecom recharge vouchers of an Authorized Carrier (presently Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited) from the Company or any of its authorized retailers for use in the JioPhone of a minimum value of Rs 1,500/- per annum for a period of 3 years from the date of the first issue of the JioPhone," states the company on its website.

3. SHAREJioPhone is SIM locked
JioPhone is SIM locked. This means that users cannot use any other telecom company's network in the phone other than that of Jio. "The recipient is aware that JioPhone is being offered with a SIM-locked feature. The company may, solely at its discretion, allow the use of the JioPhone with any other compatible network.


4. SHAREJioPhone users cannot sell or transfer the device
According to the company's website, "The Recipient has no right to sell, lease, assign, and transfer or otherwise dispose-off the JioPhone in any manner whatsoever."



5. SHAREReturning JioPhone after 12 months: Rs 1,500 plus applicable GST or other taxes need to be paid
JioPhone users who return the phone after 12 months will have to pay Rs 1,500 plus GST and other applicable taxes.


6. SHAREReturning after 12 months and up to 24 months from the date of first issue of JioPhone: Rs 1,000 plus applicable GST or other taxes need to be paid
JioPhone users who want to return their device after 12 months and up to 24 months from the date of first issue of JioPhone will have to pay Rs 1,000 plus GST and other taxes.


7. SHAREReturning after 24 months and up to 36 months from the date of first issue of the JioPhone: Rs 500 plus applicable GST or other taxes need to be paid
Those who want to return their JioPhone after 24 months and up to 36 months from the date of first issue of the JioPhone will need to pay Rs 500 plus GST and other applicable taxes.


8. SHAREThe company reserves the right to take back your JioPhone
The company also has the right to ask a customer to return the handset if he/she fails to meet (or disrupts) the terms and conditions. "The Company has the right to repossess the JioPhone if the Recipient fails to purchase recharge vouchers as per Clause 2(b) above," says the company on its website. In such cases, the recipient will be liable to pay the 'Early Return Charges'. Once the user pays the same, the company will return the due security deposit.


9. SHARETo claim refund, users need to return the device "before the expiry of thirty nine months from the date of first issue of the JioPhone"


ZTE Nubia Z17s

New Nubia smartphone launching on October 12, Nubia Z17s expected
ZTE has started sending out the media invites for an event on October 12 to be held in China in which the company is expected to unveil a new Nubia phone. The invite does not mention the name of the device to be unveiled at the event but it is likely that the ZTE will be announcing Nubia Z17s smartphone at the event.

The invite shows a glowing rectangle of light which hints at a bezel-less device from the company. The Nubia NX589J aka Nubia Z17s was recently spotted on TENNA certification website. The listing revealed the images of the phone and the major specifications of the device as well. As per the listing, Nubia NX589J features a 5.2-inch display that has HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 2 GHz octa-core processor which is coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It offers a dual 13-megapixel rear camera setup with dual-tone LED flash and 16-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded in home button below the display.

The dual SIM phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system based Nubia UI and is fueled by 3100 mAh battery. Connectivity options of the smartphone include 4G-LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS/A-GPS and a USB Type C. The dimensions of the phone are 147.99 x 72.09 x 7.95 mm and it weighs 156 grams. The device is listed in Gold and Silver colour options. The phone has Gravity sensor, distance sensor, light sensor as per the listing.

Delhi-based Ziox Mobiles has launched Ziox Astra Curve 4G smartphone in India for Rs 7,299. It is now available at retail stores across India and it comes in Champagne and Black colour variants.

The smartphone comes with a 5-inch FWVGA IPS display along with 3D Curved Glass on top. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB. The device also gets support for 21 Indian languages.

On the camera front, it comes loaded with a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and flash, while for the front there is a 2-megapixel selfie shooter. Lenovo has announced the launch of the new K8 smartphone in India. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 10,499 and it will be available from select retail stores across the country.
 
The smartphone sports a similar design language as we have seen in the K8 Plus expect from the fact that this one comes with a single camera setup. The smartphone sports a metal unibody and comes loaded with a dedicated dual-SIM and microSD card slots. The Lenovo K8 sports a 5.2-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, there is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor along with Mali T880 MP2 GPU.
 
The K8 is backed by a 3GB of RAM along with a 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable in nature. On the camera front, it supports 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and LED flash, while for the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back panel. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is juiced up by a 4000mAh battery, which the company boasts can last up to 2 days of normal use. On the connectivity front, the Lenovo K8 supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS, dual-SIM, WiFi and micro USB port.

Reliance Jio has announced its 4G LTE hotspot hub at 50 percent discount. The new festival special offer is available for a limited period of time.

As part of the offer, JioFi is available at a price of Rs 999. The WiFi hotspot hub is retailed for Rs 1999 on Jio offline outlets. The company is offering JioFi 2, the previous generation model as part of the festive offer. The device was launched at Rs 2899 in September 2016. The device comes with Jio 4G LTE SIM card.

JioFi 2 WiFi hotspot hub offers download speeds of up to 150Mbps and upload speed of 50Mbps. The device can connect up to 32 devices at a time. Reliance Jio has recently launched the successor, JioFi 3. However, only JioFi 2 is offered at the discounted price. The free promotional plan is not effective as part of this offer. Buyers of new JioFi have to recharge the device with plans starting from Rs 399. Users will get unlimited calls and 1GB or 2GB of 4G data per day depending upon the plan.

Users can purchase the JioFi at Rs 999 either from the Jio's website or the offline retail outlet. The company is yet to ship the JioPhone that was announced last month.
